What is Reiki?

Reiki is a healing technique used to treat a wide range of pain or discomfort on both the physical and emotional level. During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner sets an intention to direct the flow of energy to the recipient.  Comprised of ‘Rei’ (the higher power) and ‘Ki’ (life force energy) Reiki’s literal translation is "universal life force Energy". It is the Energy that moves through and around every living thing. Reiki, as we know it today, was introduced in the late 1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. The Energy used in this healing process originates from the universal source. Reiki is a great compliment to other healing methods and does not replace veterinary care.
